Personal view I am coming from a position where
- I am a feminist by my definition – a person who believes in the equal value of men and women, who thinks that society should be organised to reflect this equality, and who tries to move it towards this goal, which has not yet been achieved.
- I have been fortunate enough to know many men of great integrity, who respected women – my father, my brothers, my husband, my uncles, my son and several friends – so I refuse to accept that men are inherently more deplorable than women.
- I think it possible that most of the stereotypical differences between the sexes can be explained by social conditioning. Everyone tells me I am wrong about this.
- I am a Christian, and therefore believe that this equality arises from both sexes being equally made in the image of God.
